The US Navy’s USS Tulsa has arrived at the Port of Colombo today (08) for an official visit to Sri Lanka.
This marks the second visit by the warship to Sri Lanka within two years.
The US Embassy in Colombo said the Independence-variant littoral combat ship is scheduled to refuel and receive necessary supplies at the Port of Colombo before departing for further operations in the Indo-Pacific region.
The USS Tulsa previously visited the Port of Colombo in August 2025.
Commenting on the visit, US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Eric Meyer said visits by US Navy ships of this nature help further strengthen the friendship between the two countries and foster closer ties between their sailors.
He also emphasised that such visits contribute to building trust between the two countries.
The USS Tulsa is specifically designed to support maritime security, establish sea control and conduct operations alongside partner nations in the Indo-Pacific region.
