International media reports that Meta-owned services, including Facebook, Messenger and Instagram, have experienced a sudden technical issue.
The disruption, reported today (19), has caused difficulties for many users who were unable to access their accounts.
The issue appears to have mainly affected the desktop version of Facebook, according to reports.
Users attempting to log in reportedly received a notification stating that their accounts were temporarily unavailable due to a site issue and that they should try again after a few minutes.
Meanwhile, outage monitoring website DownDetector reported a sudden increase in complaints related to “Facebook Down” at around 9.00 a.m. today.
Meta has not yet issued an official statement explaining the cause of the technical problem.
