A special team of officials led by Evan Papageorgiou, the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Mission Chief for Sri Lanka, is scheduled to arrive in the country today (10).
The delegation is expected to remain in Sri Lanka for 14 days, until September 23.
The main objective of the visit is to conduct the combined seventh review of Sri Lanka’s economic reform programme under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF).
During the visit, IMF representatives are scheduled to meet with senior government officials, officials of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and other stakeholders.
Discussions are expected to focus on Sri Lanka’s macroeconomic stability, economic growth reforms and the next steps in the country’s reform programme.
