Reports have emerged claiming that Sangeetha, the wife of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader and former leading actor Vijay, has withdrawn a divorce petition she had reportedly filed.
Vijay has faced criticism over his personal and family life since entering politics. Against this backdrop, reports that the divorce petition has been withdrawn are said to have brought relief and happiness to his fans and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam supporters.
Senior journalist Venkatesan has said that the reported withdrawal could put an end to criticism surrounding Vijay’s personal family life, as he continues to face political pressures in Tamil Nadu over issues including the Cauvery dispute, constituency delimitation and the state Assembly budget session.
He made the remarks during an interview with the Media Circle YouTube channel.
According to Venkatesan, Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay had previously said in an interview that his father’s success had placed greater responsibility on the family. Venkatesan said the remark also referred to Vijay’s wife Sangeetha and daughter Divya.
He further said Vijay had faced strong criticism after entering politics, with allegations that he was not paying sufficient attention to his family.
