A new association representing professional cricketers in Sri Lanka has been established, according to cricket sources.
Current Sri Lanka limited-overs captain Kusal Mendis has been appointed as the founding president of the association.
Cricket sources further said that Sri Lanka women’s captain Chamari Athapaththu and all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga have also expressed their support for the new association.
The association is expected to work with the World Cricketers’ Association in the future, according to reports.
