Former U.S. President Joe Biden’s prostate cancer has spread to his bones and beyond, and he is suffering from severe pain, his son Hunter Biden has said.
Speaking in an interview with BBC’s Newsnight, Hunter Biden said his father’s cancer had become more severe. He said the cancer had spread throughout his body, including to his bones and beyond, causing significant pain and affecting him in several ways.
However, Joe Biden’s spokesperson has declined to comment on Hunter Biden’s remarks.
In May 2025, Biden first revealed that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had spread to his bones. In October, one of his spokespersons said he was undergoing radiation and hormone therapy.
Biden served as U.S. president from 2021 to 2025. He became the oldest person to assume the U.S. presidency when he won the 2020 presidential election.
Despite his cancer diagnosis, Biden attended the opening ceremony of the Barack Obama Presidential Library in Chicago last June. He served as vice president under the Obama administration from 2009 to 2017.
A memoir about Biden’s presidency is scheduled to be released on November 17.
