The death toll from the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has risen to 1,033, while the total number of confirmed cases has increased to 2,536, according to the country's latest official figures.
The National Institute of Public Health reported that 50 new Ebola cases were identified on Monday in the eastern provinces of Ituri and North Kivu.
Health authorities said the virus continues to spread rapidly amid ongoing conflict and limited healthcare facilities in the affected regions. Efforts are continuing to contain the outbreak and strengthen the public health response.
