A 48-year-old woman died after being admitted to the Mawatagama Hospital with injuries sustained in a sharp weapon attack in Ambakote, within the Welagedara Police Division.
Police identified the victim as a resident of Ambakote.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the killing occurred following a domestic dispute, with the woman's husband allegedly attacking her with a sharp weapon.
A 50-year-old suspect has been arrested, and further investigations are being carried out by the Welagedara Police.
