A 71-year-old woman has died after falling from a moving bus in the Wadiyawatta area on the Yakkalamulla–Imaduwa Road on August 17, 2026.
The woman sustained serious injuries after falling from a bus travelling towards Ahangama. She was initially admitted to Imaduwa Hospital and was later transferred to Karapitiya Hospital for further treatment, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The deceased was a 71-year-old resident of the Imaduwa area.
The bus driver has been arrested in connection with the incident. Yakkalamulla Police are conducting further investigations.
