Two people have died following a collision between a bus and a motorcycle near the Isurumuniya Clock Tower on the Anuradhapura–Wilachchiya Road.

Police stated that the accident occurred on the morning of July 15, 2026. The motorcycle rider, rear passenger, and a female passenger were injured and admitted to the Anuradhapura Hospital.

The motorcycle rider and the rear passenger later succumbed to their injuries. The deceased were identified as residents of Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura, aged 27 and 29.

The bus driver has been arrested, and the Anuradhapura Police are conducting further investigations.
