Two foreign suspects have been arrested with 12,000 cigarettes allegedly imported into Sri Lanka without paying customs duties during a raid conducted in the Galle Road area of the Kollupitiya Police Division on the night of August 18, 2026.
The raid was carried out by a team of officers from the Kollupitiya Police Station based on information received by the police.
The suspects, aged 31 and 34, are Chinese nationals, police said.
Further investigations into the incident are being conducted by the Kollupitiya Police.
