Two suspects have been arrested in two raids conducted by officers of the Walana Central Anti-Corruption Strike Force in the Gomagala area of the Hambegamuwa Police Division on August 22, 2026.
The raids were carried out based on information received by the officers. One suspect was arrested with 1,044 kilograms and 180 grams of cannabis, while another was arrested with 54,096 cannabis plants.
The suspects, aged 30 and 38, are residents of the Ethambalawa area. They were handed over to the Hambegamuwa Police Station.
Hambegamuwa Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
