Two suspects connected to the shooting murder of a person in the Korathota area of the Nawagamuwa Police Division have been arrested by the Homagama Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau.

Police launched investigations into the incident that occurred on July 16, 2026. Based on information received by investigators, the rider of the motorcycle used by the suspects to commit the crime and another suspect who allegedly assisted in the offence were arrested.

The suspects were arrested on the evening of July 19, 2026, in the Delgoda area within the Biyagama Police Division and the Wanduramulla area within the Nawagamuwa Police Division. The motorcycle allegedly used in the crime was also taken into police custody.

The arrested suspects are aged 21 and 29 and are residents of Ranala and Pallama areas, police said.

Further investigations are being carried out by the Homagama Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau.
