A suspect wanted in connection with an attempted murder by shooting and another individual have been arrested by the Borella Police.
Following information received by the Borella Police regarding an incident on 23 July 2026, where two unidentified individuals who arrived on a motorcycle attempted to shoot and kill a person in the Kuppiyawatta area within the Dematagoda Police Division, a special operation was conducted.
During the operation carried out on 05 August 2026 in the Lake Drive area, a suspect was arrested along with 10 grams and 900 milligrams of ice narcotics.
The arrested suspect is a 23-year-old resident of Borella.
Further investigations have revealed that the suspect had allegedly acted as the rider of the motorcycle used in the crime.
Another individual, a 24-year-old resident of Borella who was with the suspect, was also arrested on suspicion. Borella Police are conducting further investigations to determine whether he was involved in the crime.
