Three Killed in Delgoda Crash, Including Seven-Year-Old Girl

Three people, including a seven-year-old girl, have died following a collision between a three-wheeler and a car on Aluth Nuwara Road in Delgoda, police said.

The accident occurred on August 19 when a three-wheeler travelling from the Biyagama side towards Delgoda attempted to suddenly turn right and collided with an oncoming car.

The three-wheeler driver, two women and two children who sustained serious injuries in the accident were admitted to the Udupila Hospital.

The driver, a woman and a seven-year-old girl later succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.

Police identified the deceased as a 69-year-old man from Delgoda, a 39-year-old woman from Siyambalape and her seven-year-old daughter.

Another young girl who was travelling in the car was also injured and admitted to the Ragama Hospital.

The Meegahawatta Police are conducting further investigations into the accident.
