Three suspects have been arrested with stocks of illegal alcohol during separate raids conducted in three different areas.

The arrests were made by officers of the Negombo Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau, Nikaweratiya Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau and Walana Central Anti-Corruption Unit.

During a raid conducted in the Dalupotha area within the Negombo Police Division, a 44-year-old resident of Kochchikade was arrested with 52 litres and 500 millilitres of illegal alcohol (70 bottles).

Meanwhile, a 36-year-old resident of Nagollagama was arrested with 78 litres and 750 millilitres of illegal alcohol during a raid in the Talkotewatta area within the Nagollagama Police Division.

In another raid conducted in the Thotupola Road area within the Mahabage Police Division, a 36-year-old resident of Ragama was arrested with 150 litres of illegal alcohol (200 bottles).

Further investigations into the incidents are being conducted by the Negombo, Nagollagama and Mahabage Police Stations.
