Three suspects have been arrested with heroin and ice (crystal methamphetamine) during separate raids conducted in several areas across the country.

On July 30, 2026, evening, officers of the Police Special Task Force (STF) Jayawardenepura Camp arrested a 62-year-old woman with 360 grams of heroin during a raid conducted in the Kittampahuwa area of Wellampitiya.

Meanwhile, officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau Kandy Sub Unit arrested a 25-year-old suspect with 100 grams and 500 milligrams of ice during a raid in the Walawela area of Yatawatta.

In another operation, the Kappetipola Police arrested a 31-year-old suspect in the Dambawinna area with 130 grams and 500 milligrams of ice and 52 grams and 200 milligrams of heroin.

Further investigations into the incidents are being conducted by the Wellampitiya, Yatawatta and Kappetipola Police Stations.
