Police have arrested three suspects for allegedly setting fire to and damaging a container truck following a fatal road accident in the Bolawalana area along the Negombo–Minuwangoda Road.

The suspects, aged 20, 25 and 26, are residents of Dagonnna and Kimbulapitiya in Negombo.

The incident occurred after two young men riding separate motorcycles collided with a container truck that was making a turn across the road. Both motorcyclists died in the crash.

The victims, aged 18 and 20, were residents of Dagonnna, police said.

Investigators have also taken into custody another motorcycle abandoned near the scene. Police are analysing CCTV footage and other evidence to identify and arrest any additional suspects involved in setting the container truck on fire.
