Suspect Arrested with Kush Drugs at BIA

A suspect has been arrested with Kush drugs at the arrival terminal of Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake.

On the morning of 27 July 2026, officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau Airport Unit conducted a raid based on received information and arrested the suspect with 1 kilogram and 480 grams of Kush drugs.

The arrested suspect is a 24-year-old resident of Okkampitiya.

Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by the Airport Unit of the Police Narcotics Bureau.
