Sarath Weerawansa, the brother of former Member of Parliament Wimal Weerawansa, has been arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID).
The arrest was made in connection with an investigation into allegations of misuse of vehicles belonging to the State Engineering Corporation.
The FCID is conducting further investigations into the incident.
