The “Ratama Ekata” national operation is being carried out through multiple approaches aimed at disrupting the supply of drugs across the country, reducing demand, expanding operations, rehabilitating drug-dependent individuals, implementing preventive programmes to curb drug abuse, and empowering communities against drugs.
The national operation has been in progress since October 30, 2025, with the objective of completely suppressing the widespread drug trade and drug-related activities in the country.
According to the instructions of the Inspector General of Police, the Sri Lanka Police is conducting island-wide anti-drug operations. The daily report for August 18, 2026, has been issued.
