A person was shot dead near the BCC Bridge in Maligawatta, Colombo, today (10), with the victim reportedly dying at the scene.
Police said an unidentified gunman who arrived on a motorcycle carried out the shooting before fleeing the area.
The deceased has been identified as a close relative of ‘Kanjipani Imran’, an organised crime gang leader who is currently believed to be overseas.
Security has been tightened in the area as police search for the fleeing suspect. The Maligawatta Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
