The General Manager of the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) has been sent on compulsory leave with pay.
According to a written notice issued by NHDA Chairman J.K.A. Sirinatha, the General Manager has been prohibited from entering any office or workplace of the National Housing Development Authority during the period of compulsory leave.
He has also been instructed not to travel overseas without the prior approval of the Chairman.
The decision was taken after preliminary information emerged regarding several alleged serious irregularities committed by the General Manager in violation of the Establishments Code and the disciplinary regulations of the National Housing Development Authority, according to the notice.
NHDA Chairman J.K.A. Sirinatha said legal action would be taken against the General Manager if the allegations made against him are proven.
