A man was killed after being hit by a train near the Bambalapitiya Railway Station.
Bambalapitiya Police launched an investigation following information received that a person had been struck by a train travelling from Aluthgama to Maradana on the evening of July 19, 2026.
The deceased has been identified as a 34-year-old resident of Piliyandala, police said.
The body has been placed at the mortuary of the Colombo National Hospital, while further investigations are being conducted by Bambalapitiya Police.
