A special operation has been launched by the Malaysian Police, Interpol, and a special team of the Sri Lanka Police to arrest ‘Kanjipani Imran’, who is identified as an international drug trafficker and underworld gang leader.
The Sri Lankan Police team, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Rohan Olugala, has joined the operation, while raids and investigations have already been carried out at several locations where Imran is suspected to be hiding.
Malaysian authorities and Interpol have taken measures to prevent the suspect from fleeing the country by closely monitoring airports, ports, and sea routes.
Several individuals linked to Kanjipani Imran’s network in Malaysia have been identified, and operations are underway to arrest them.
Malaysian Police and ASP Rohan Olugala have conducted lengthy interrogations with three suspects, including Imran’s close associate ‘Rathmalana Saima’, who is currently in Malaysian custody. Important information regarding Imran’s criminal network has reportedly been revealed during the investigations.
Following the arrest of Rathmalana Saima, it has been revealed that Kanjipani Imran changed his location and moved to another area.
Authorities are continuing efforts to arrest the suspect and bring him back to Sri Lanka.
