The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today (22) reissued an arrest warrant against former Sri Lankan Ambassador to the United States Jaliya Wickramasuriya, who has been evading court proceedings in a case related to the alleged misappropriation of government funds.
Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasekara instructed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to obtain the Attorney General’s advice regarding the case and present facts before the court on December 9.
Jaliya Wickramasuriya had previously been produced before court as a suspect over the alleged misuse of government funds. The latest warrant was issued after he failed to appear before court.
