A suspect and four women have been arrested after Seeduwa Police raided a brothel allegedly operating under the guise of a massage centre in the Negombo Road area.
The raid was conducted on the night of July 19, 2026, based on information received by officers of the Seeduwa Police Station.
A male suspect was arrested for allegedly managing the brothel, while four women who were reportedly staying at the location for prostitution were also taken into police custody.
The arrested suspect is a 40-year-old resident of Handuntawa, police said.
The arrested women are aged between 22 and 30 years and are residents of Kosgama, Matale, Kurunegala and Ambagamuwa areas.
Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by Seeduwa Police.
