The Dinana Dakuna organisation has lodged a complaint with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) against Members of Parliament elected from the National People's Power (NPP).
The organisation alleges that the MPs committed an offence under the Anti-Corruption Act No. 9 of 2023 by depositing allowances received through their parliamentary positions into a Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) bank account instead of using them for public welfare purposes.
The Dinana Dakuna organisation submitted the complaint to the Bribery Commission this morning (02), requesting an immediate investigation under the Anti-Corruption Act.
The complaint calls for all 159 NPP MPs to be summoned and their statements recorded as part of an investigation. It also requests that the relevant party's bank accounts be examined.
The organisation stated that the complaint had been submitted under five main grounds.
