A protest organised by the ‘Janavarame Puravesiyo’ (Citizens of the Mandate) organisation was held today (17) in front of the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.
Held under the theme ‘Defeat the Conspiracies to Punish the Corrupt’, the protesters strongly condemned alleged attempts to prevent legal action against individuals facing corruption allegations.
The protesters initially gathered in the Colombo Fort area before marching towards Galle Face and staging the demonstration in front of the Presidential Secretariat.
