A suspect has been arrested with 105 litres of illegal liquor in Pugoda, while 11.8 kilograms of Kerala cannabis have been seized in the Tharapuram area of Mannar.
Officers from the Walana Central Anti-Corruption Strike Force conducted a raid in the Pattiyagama area of the Pugoda Police Division yesterday (10) morning based on information received and arrested a 45-year-old suspect with 105 litres, or 140 bottles, of illegal liquor.
The suspect, a resident of the Pugoda area, was handed over to the Pugoda Police Station for further investigations.
Meanwhile, officers from the Mannar Police Special Task Force camp conducted a raid in the Tharapuram area of the Mannar Police Division and recovered 11 kilograms and 800 grams of Kerala cannabis concealed in a forested area.
The seized cannabis was handed over to the Mannar Police Station. Further investigations are underway to identify those responsible for concealing the drugs.
